Stunning circa 1920 diminutive hand painted Art Deco tray depicting two embracing mythological water nymphs by Kurt Wendler for Rosenthal. Kurt Wendler was a visionary painter leading up to the era of Art Deco. A contemporary of Martha Katzer, Marguerete Heymann, Augusta Kaiser, and Eva Zeisel, he was imprisoned for hiding a Jewish painter during WWII.
