Ugo Zaccagnini (1868-1937) was a plaster modeler employed by Richard-Ginori Ceramic Company and a cofounder of Società Fabbriale Maioliche Artistiche in Florence. In 1912 Ugo Zaccagnini's studio was relocated to Florence’s Piazza Pier Vettori, and exhibited at the Florence Crafts Exhibits, as well as the Milan Triennale and Trade Fair. In 1928 the studio expanded to Via Monte Oliveto and taking its cue from the new hilltop location, the Zaccagnini brand was changed to a “Z” intersected by a hill-like curve. After Ugo’s death in 1937, his son Urbano became studio director.
