Wonderful model of a mythological hippocampus (half fish half horse) by Bohemian sculptor Dominikus Auliczek for Nymphenburg, titled 'Neptune's Sea Horse.' In mythology Neptune accidentally created horses when he had an affair with Medusa. Designed by Auliczek in 1770, this model was produced by Nymphenburg circa 1910. Fully signed.
