Fine circa 1960 thick and refined minimalist Murano hand formed glass vessel by Albert Herbert for Salviati & Co.
Professor Herbert (Pratt) was a New York interior and textile designer, and early member of the Knoll Planning Unit. His textile designs were featured in MoMA's 'How Should We Live?' Modern Interior exhibition, and examples can be found at Cooper Hewitt. This glass piece by Mr. Herbert is very rare, and strongly evokes the thick minimalist pieces designed by Ward Bennett for Salviati during the same era. Fully signed.
