Wonderful neoclassical Scandanavian vessel depicting a pair of conjoined fish, executed in bronzed Disko Metal by master jewelry designer and metalsmith Just Andersen circa 1930. Disko Metal is an alloy of Andersen's own invention, named after the Disko Bay of Greenland. The larger fish is particularly grotesque with human-like teeth and nose.
